Belonging to the Trebbiano classification, it can be considered a native vine of the central regions of Italy. It is cultivated on small surfaces, especially in the Marche and Abruzzo regions.

The cluster is medium, almost sparse, with a winged-compound. The medium-late ripening is characterized by the slow accumulation of sugars, but at the same time one experiences a proportional demolition acidity. The Passerina has shown good resistance to major pests, including the botrytis fungus, while ensuring a good production per hectare. The wine has a straw yellow color with greenish reflections, sometimes golden.  It is fruity, floral and spicy, with hints of citrus and dried vegetable, quite intense and persistent, usually acidic, with a bitter aftertaste and good structure.
